The wait for shops inside the suburb has an official next step: a development application for the Menangle Park town centre — anchored by a Woolworths supermarket — has been lodged with Campbelltown Council, with the lodgement announced by estate developer Dahua Group in July 2026.

The town centre has sat on the masterplan since the beginning, and it's the piece residents ask about most. Until it's built, the closest big shop remains a ten-minute drive to Campbelltown or Glen Alpine — the honest reality we cover in Living here.

What happens next: a DA goes through council assessment (public exhibition, referrals, and a determination), and only then can construction start — so don't expect trolleys this year. Meanwhile, civil works on Stage 3 North Phase 2 and Stage 4 North are due to finish by early 2027, unlocking registration and settlement for those stages.

We'll track the application as it moves through assessment and update this story when the council makes a call.
