New bus 845 links Campbelltown to Western Sydney International

Route 845 started on Sunday 5 July 2026. It runs between Campbelltown and Western Sydney International Airport via Oran Park, every 30 minutes, from 5am to 10pm, seven days a week.

What the source says

Transport for NSW lists the 845 alongside four other new airport routes on the same 30-minute, 5am to 10pm pattern: 772 from Mount Druitt, 790 from Penrith, 825 from Liverpool via Bonnyrigg and 860 from Liverpool via Leppington. A free WSI Link shuttle from St Marys station is to run once passenger flights begin.

One condition on the same Transport for NSW page sits in its Drive section, in the note on the M12, and is about the road rather than the bus: “While the motorway will be open to traffic, access into the airport site will not be available until the airport opens in late October 2026.” On the airport itself, the Australian Government said in June 2026 that freight operations would commence on Sunday 26 July 2026 with Qantas Freight’s regular flights the following evening, and that passenger flights start on 25 October 2026.

What it means for a household here

There is no direct bus from Menangle Park to the airport, but the shortest chain is two legs, not three: the train from Menangle Park Station to Campbelltown, then the 845. It is three legs if you start on the 889, because since 5 July 2026 the 889 no longer runs between Macarthur Station and Campbelltown Station — 889 to Macarthur, one stop by train to Campbelltown, then the 845. Either way, the train runs broadly hourly with peak extras.

Western Sydney International is about 34 km from Menangle Park Station by road, around 37 minutes in free-flow conditions. That is a map-routing estimate, not an official travel time, and peak conditions are materially slower. The route runs up the Hume, then Narellan Road and The Northern Road — signalised arterial roads for most of the way. The toll-free M12 Motorway, open since 14 March 2026, serves the airport from the M7 side and is not on the run from here.

What to watch

Whether Transport for NSW adds or reworks services once passenger flights begin in late October 2026, and whether anything is added on the Macarthur side rather than only from Campbelltown.
