For a household here, the useful part is a flight leaving close to midnight from an airport 34 km away. Fiji Airways will fly between Western Sydney International and Nadi three times a week, on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, the Australian Government said on 9 September 2026. The first flight is on 19 March 2027, on a Boeing 737 MAX 8.

FJ990 leaves Western Sydney at 11.55pm; FJ991 arrives there at 10.55pm. The Nadi-side times differ between schedule periods, so check the airline’s own schedule for your travel date. The department calls Western Sydney International a “24-hour, curfew-free” airport, which is what allows a departure that late.

The release names Fiji Airways as joining “international carriers Vietjet, Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines, as well as domestic carriers Qantas and Jetstar”.

The bus gets you there; the last 845 back leaves at 10pm

Map routing computed for this site on 30 August 2026 puts the airport about 34 km from Menangle Park Station — roughly 37 minutes free-flow, up the Hume then Narellan Road and The Northern Road, and near midnight free-flow is the realistic figure.

Route 845 has run between Campbelltown and the airport via Oran Park every 30 minutes, 5am to 10pm daily, since 5 July 2026. On the timetable read on 20 September 2026 the last 845 leaves Campbelltown at 9.55pm and reaches the airport at 10.50pm — an hour and five minutes before FJ990 departs, and it is the last one of the night.

Coming home is worse. The last 845 off the airport is 10pm and the next is 5am, into Menangle Park about 6.20am. A free, temporary WSI Link shuttle to St Marys is due to start with passenger flights, running to midnight and to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. On the timetables read on 20 September 2026 that way home saves about an hour after a Sunday or Monday landing — though it is three buses through Central — and saves nothing after a Friday one, when both routes reach Menangle Park about 6.10am. Transport for NSW may rework these services once the airport opens.

The Government’s release says passenger services at Western Sydney International will start at 11am on Sunday 25 October 2026.
