Buses replaced trains through Menangle Park over the 12–13 September weekend
Trackwork closed the Southern Highlands Line all weekend; replacement route 6SH stopped at every station, Moss Vale to Campbelltown, Menangle Park included. The next Southern Highlands weekend is Saturday 24 October.
Transport for NSW took the Southern Highlands Line out for the whole weekend of 12 and 13 September 2026. This is the record of that weekend; the forward dates are in six more trackwork weekends, the next of them Saturday 24 October.
What the alerts say
From 9.50pm on Friday 11 September until 2am the following morning, buses replaced trains between Moss Vale and Campbelltown. All day on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, buses replaced trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and East Hills, and replacement route 6SH stopped at all stations between Moss Vale and Campbelltown, which takes in Menangle Park.
Two things to know about the replacement buses: bikes are not allowed, and most but not all are Opal-enabled, so carry another way to pay.
Connecting toward the city took longer that weekend too. The weekend alert also said T8 Airport & South Line trains ran a modified timetable between East Hills and the City, so the second leg needed extra time.

Campbelltown City Council also has a celebration for the new Koshigaya Park playground from 10am to 12pm that Saturday, a walk from Campbelltown station via Hurley Street, and lists it as free — see Koshigaya Park’s playground is open. Replacement route 6SH runs to Campbelltown, but allow more time than a train.
