What you can join around Menangle Park

Two things a family can join are based in Menangle Park: the volunteer Rural Fire Service brigade on Racecourse Avenue, and Club Menangle’s two licensed venues. Everything else — the football club, the netball courts, the swim school, the library, Scouts, playgroup, the off-leash dog park — is in a neighbouring Campbelltown suburb, because the estate’s own sports precinct has not been built.

Dahua’s project page gives 41 hectares of planned open space, and Benaiah, a consultant to Dahua, describes a “Playing Fields Park” of four sports fields, an amenities building, a themed playground, shared paths and car parking, plus a riparian corridor with an elevated boardwalk. That same page says the consultant is “overseeing the design approval process” and preparing documents for Council endorsement — design and approval, not construction, and no completion date is published. No source says which club would get the fields, or whether a new Menangle Park club would form.

Where the kids would play

The Macarthur Football Association covers the Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly council areas: MiniRoos from age five including girls-only leagues, then youth, seniors, over-35s, over-45s and walking football. Winter runs March to September, summer October to March. It also runs Macarthur Magic, a special-needs programme at Nugget Beams Reserve. No MFA club has a Menangle Park home ground.

Macarthur Saints is the closest junior rugby league club and plainly active — its under-16s boys took the 2026 minor premiership in August 2026. The club says it is “working towards” a girls programme in 2027: proposed, not running. South West Sydney Blues was formed in 2022 by merging Campbelltown Blues and South West Sydney Magpies; its details here come from a third-party directory, so confirm them with the club.

Swimming

Council runs Learn to Swim at Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre (Bradbury), Eagle Vale Central and Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre, from six months to adult, seven days a week. Published prices are $22.50 for a first child, $20.50 second, $18.50 third and subsequent, and $72 per half hour for private lessons, by direct debit. Council’s page describes itself as an “Active Kids and first lap provider”; both those programmes have ended — the last First Lap vouchers expired on 30 June 2024 — and Council’s apply link goes to the Active and Creative Kids voucher: $50, twice a year, for a child aged 4.5 to 18 whose carer receives Family Tax Benefit. It has to be used with a registered provider, and we could not confirm the swim school is on that list — ask when you enrol. Council says fees are subject to change. Gordon Fetterplace is the closest public pool: an eight-lane 25-metre indoor pool, a 50-metre outdoor pool closed May to September, a recreational pool, an adults-only spa, and a splash park Council listed as temporarily closed for maintenance on 30 August 2026. Entry is $8.30 adult, $5.50 child or concession, $23.30 family, and under-fives swim free with a full-paying adult. Open weekdays 5:30am–8pm, weekends 7:30am–3pm, public holidays 9:30am–3pm, and reachable on Busabout route 885.

Kingswim teaches from 12 weeks of age on the lower ground level of Macarthur Square. No fixed swim school operates inside Menangle Park; the operators marketing to postcode 2563 are mobile and in-home coaches.

The brigade and the SES unit

Menangle Park Rural Fire Brigade is a volunteer NSW RFS brigade at 72 Racecourse Avenue, contact 0412 208 874, describing itself as part of the Cumberland/Macarthur District. All of that comes from the brigade’s own Facebook page. We found no official rfs.nsw.gov.au page for it, so confirm the district and the volunteer intake process through rfs.nsw.gov.au.

There is no SES unit in Menangle Park. The NSW SES suburb lookup returns three — Campbelltown Unit at the corner of Alderney and Townson Avenue, Minto; Camden Unit at 21 Queen Street, Narellan; and Wollondilly Unit at 65–69 Bridge Street, Picton — and puts the suburb in the SES Metro Zone. Scouts, Guides, playgroup and church

1st St Andrews Scout Group meets at 37 Sunderland Drive, Raby: Joeys (5–8) Mondays 5:30–6:30pm, Cubs (8–11) Mondays 7–8:30pm, Scouts (11–14) Tuesdays 6:30–8:30pm, in school terms, with a free four-week trial. It is the Macarthur District group we could confirm, not necessarily the closest — run your postcode through the Scouts NSW group finder.

Girl Guides NSW’s own unit search returns Ruse Guides (12–17, Thursdays 6–8pm) and Ruse Flexible Guides (5–11, Fridays 4:30–6:30pm), both at Kentlyn Scout Hall, corner of Georges River and Old Kent Roads, then the Camden units at 4 Elizabeth Street. Enquiries go through that unit search; no phone number is published for the units themselves, but Girl Guides NSW’s membership team takes enquiries on 1300 447 548.

Council runs free Early Years playgroups for children aged 0–5 with trained educators, plus a Mobile Toy and Book Library lending two books and one toy per child. Days, times and venues are published only in a downloadable flyer, so whether any session runs near Menangle Park is unconfirmed — phone Council on 02 4645 4000. Playgroup NSW runs a supported playgroup at Airds.

Menangle Park sits inside the Catholic parish of Our Lady Help of Christians, Rosemeadow, 80 Demetrius Road, 02 4628 1385, which names the suburb in its boundaries and also takes in St Bede’s Church at Appin. We could not find any Anglican, Uniting or Pentecostal congregation publishing a defined presence covering Menangle Park; check the denominational parish finders directly.

The library

There is no library branch in Menangle Park and no mobile library service we could confirm. Campbelltown City Library has four branches — Campbelltown (HJ Daley), Eagle Vale, Ingleburn and Glenquarie. The nearest is HJ Daley, 147–157 Queen Street, Downtown Plaza, 02 4645 4444, open Monday to Thursday 9:30am–8pm, Friday 9:30am–5pm, Saturday 9am–4pm and Sunday 10:30am–4pm, closed public holidays, with a Justice of the Peace on weekdays 10am–1pm.

Membership is free to residents and non-residents alike and covers all four branches: 30 items for 21 days with two renewals, free requests and holds, free computers with internet and Office, ebooks, audiobooks, emagazines, databases, material in ten community languages and inter-library loans. There are no overdue fines: membership is suspended until items come back. Bring ID showing your name and current address.

Dogs

Council lists six off-leash areas and none is in Menangle Park. The nearest are Baden Powell Reserve, 156 St Johns Road, Bradbury — newly built, with agility equipment, seating and water — and the south-eastern corner of Mary Brookes Reserve, Kellerman Drive, St Helens Park. Milton Park at Macquarie Fields is the only one with a separate small-dog enclosure. All open seven days in daylight hours, four dogs per person, handler over 16. Adults, and the Facebook question

Campbelltown Men’s Shed Inc runs from King Street, Campbelltown, Tuesday to Thursday 9am–12pm: woodworking, turning, leather and metal work, gardening and community projects. Contact Matt Lyons, 0493 378 433.

We could find no formally constituted Menangle Park residents’ association or precinct committee. Discussion happens in four unofficial, resident-run Facebook groups: “Menangle Park Community”, “Menangle and Menangle Park Community”, “Building in Menangle Park” and “Menangle Park Land and Community Info”. They are useful and they are not authoritative — none is run by Council or Dahua. The second spans both Menangle Park 2563 in Campbelltown and the separate village of Menangle 2568 in Wollondilly Shire, so its posts may not be about your suburb at all. The @menanglepark Instagram account is run by the developer, not by a community group.

Club Menangle runs a community donations programme whose “Local Community” pillar covers the Menangle Park precinct, and invites local groups to apply for help with raffles, auctions and fundraising; the newest item on that page is dated February 2024.
