Doctors, dentists, vets and the nearest emergency department

If it is life-threatening, call 000. The emergency department to know is Campbelltown Hospital on Therry Road, Campbelltown: South Western Sydney Local Health District describes it as the major emergency service for the Macarthur area, with a 24-hour emergency department, and its emergency page says the Camden campus takes no ambulances. Where an ambulance actually takes you is not something this guide can tell you, because no published source settles it. If it is urgent but not an emergency, the Campbelltown Medicare Urgent Care Clinic at 296 Queen Street is bulk billed, takes walk-ins and is open 8am to 10pm, seven days.

The thing to plan around: no GP, pharmacy, dentist or vet operates inside Menangle Park. Our research found none; the developer’s project material lists such services as part of a future town centre, not as something open today. Every option below is in another suburb, so work out your route before you need it, not on the night.

The emergency department

Campbelltown Hospital, Therry Road, Campbelltown NSW 2560, switchboard 02 4634 3000. SWSLHD’s emergency department page — itself stamped “Last Updated: 22 February, 2013” — describes a 48-bed emergency department split across two campuses, 40 at Campbelltown and eight at Camden, open 24 hours seven days. That is the same 2013 page the description of Camden below rests on, so treat the bed counts as dated too; no fresher published figure was found.

Camden Hospital on Menangle Road, Camden shares the same switchboard. SWSLHD describes its emergency service as self-presenting only, with no ambulance attendances, and says some patients need transfer to Campbelltown or another specialist facility. Treat that carefully: the SWSLHD page carrying that description is stamped “Last Updated: 22 February, 2013”. Phone 02 4634 3000 and ask before you drive to Camden with a sick child.

Urgent, but not an emergency

The Campbelltown Medicare Urgent Care Clinic sits inside the Campbelltown Medical & Dental Centre at 296 Queen Street, Campbelltown, phone 02 4637 2355. healthdirect, the Australian Government’s health service directory, lists it as open 8am–10pm seven days, and 8am–10pm on every public holiday it lists. The operator’s own page says the same. Both read 31 August 2026. No appointment is needed, and it is bulk billed with no fee for eligible services when you present a Medicare card. It is wheelchair accessible with accessible parking and toilet.

Medicare Urgent Care Clinics exist for illness or injury that can be managed without an emergency department but cannot wait for a routine GP appointment — a sprain, a cut needing closure, a suspected minor fracture, an infection getting worse. Chest pain, breathing trouble, serious bleeding, head injury and stroke symptoms are emergency department problems. Call 000.

GPs

Bulk-billing statements below come from each practice’s own website, read on 30 August 2026. Practices change their billing without notice and most attach exceptions, so phone and ask what you will pay before you book.

Ultra Care advertises 100% bulk billing for all patients with a valid Medicare card, “except a few services”. Campbelltown Medical & Dental Centre advertises 100% bulk billed GP consults and notes procedures may attract a fee. Both statements are the practices’ own, not an independent audit.

Mount Annan Market Place puts two GP practices, a dentist, a pharmacy and a gym in one car park, which makes it a convenient single stop for routine appointments. It is not the closest option, though: measured by road it is 10.5 km from the estate entrance, further out than Campbelltown.

Pharmacies

There is no pharmacy in Menangle Park. The nearest one whose hours we could confirm from the operator’s own store page is TerryWhite Chemmart Campbelltown, 241 Queen Street, Campbelltown, 02 4640 8000 — Monday to Friday 8am–7pm, Saturday 9am–6pm, Sunday 9am–4pm, closed public holidays. By road that is about 8.5 km from the estate, roughly 10 minutes off-peak.

For a script after 7pm, the latest-closing pharmacy we could verify from an operator’s page is TerryWhite Chemmart Narellan Town Centre, Shop 12, 326 Camden Valley Way, Narellan, 02 4646 1677 — Monday to Saturday 8.30am–9pm, Sunday 10am–5pm, with public holiday hours that may differ. That is about 12.7 km, roughly 13 minutes each way.

Dentists

Camden Dental Surgery publishes Saturday morning appointments by booking, 8:30am–2:00pm. Camden Dental Centre is wheelchair accessible.

Physiotherapy and allied health

Macarthur Physiotherapy, Suite 4, 150 Lindesay St, Campbelltown, 02 4628 0026. Campbelltown Physiotherapy, Shop 1, 3 Allman St, with hydrotherapy and a children’s sensory gym at Villa 2, 7 Chamberlain St, (02) 4628 8181. The Physio Spot, 75 Broughton St, Camden, 02 4655 9477 — this practice previously traded as Physio Inq Camden, and directory listings still using the old name are out of date.

Vets

Macarthur Veterinary Group runs four clinics across the catchment: Mount Annan, Unit 17/2–4 Main St, 02 4647 7722; Bradbury, 75 Jacaranda Ave, 02 4627 1333 (about 9.6 km via Menangle Road and Narellan Road, not Appin Road); Camden, 6 Ironbark Avenue, 02 4655 7664; and Gregory Hills, 2/13 Rodeo Road, 02 4648 3588. We did not find a published after-hours emergency animal hospital for this catchment, so ask your clinic who they refer overnight cases to, and write the answer on the fridge.

The numbers worth saving

Menangle Park is policed by Campbelltown City Police Area Command, which lists the suburb among the 38 it covers. The command has two stations — Campbelltown at 65 Queen Street and Macquarie Fields at 10 Brooks Street, 02 9605 0499 — both open 24 hours.

The nearest Fire and Rescue NSW station is Campbelltown Fire Station, 66 Broughton Street, 02 4634 6088. A volunteer NSW Rural Fire Service brigade also lists an address in the suburb, 72 Racecourse Avenue — that detail comes from the brigade’s own Facebook page, not from rfs.nsw.gov.au, where we could find no page for it.
