The free NSW Government app for recording a koala you have seen, and the thing to reach for while you are standing there rather than later. Sightings go to Koala Sightings in BioNet, the state biodiversity dataset, which is how a koala in a Menangle Park street ends up in the record planners read. It is for healthy animals only: NSW Environment says an injured, sick or distressed koala needs a licensed wildlife carer straight away.
Free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Two things worth knowing before you need it. It works without service — but the page is specific that you have to log in first, before you go anywhere without signal, and the record uploads once you are back online. And it is a record, not an alert: NSW Environment says sightings go up to BioNet monthly, so nobody is dispatched because you filed one. If you would rather not install it, or you are at a desktop, the same page links a sighting report form that does the same job.
A sick or injured koala is a phone call, not an app. WIRES on 1300 094 737 or Sydney Wildlife Rescue on (02) 9413 4300, both 24 hours. Say exactly where the animal is, so it can be released in the right place.

Council animal shelter and pet registration
Council's animal facility on Rose Street, off Blaxland Road. One of two Council counters — the Civic Centre is the other — where Menangle Park residents can pay pet registration in person or register an assistance or working dog, and the place to claim a lost dog or cat.
Local council
Menangle Park's local council. The Civic Centre counter is at 91 Queen Street, Campbelltown, on the corner of Queen and Broughton Streets. This is the number you ring to order bins for a new home, and the counter where you can pay rates; a pet can be registered in person here or at Council's Animal Care Facility on Rose Street.
