Campbelltown City Council — Koalatown

Council koala programme and sightings · Council, utilities & emergency

Campbelltown 2560KoalasCouncilWildlife

Where you report seeing a koala rather than rescuing one. Ring 02 4645 4601, email koalatown@campbelltown.nsw.gov.au, or use the I Spy Koala app. A sick or injured animal needs a rescue group, not this number.

Council’s koala pages also carry its advice for households next to habitat: dogs secured when unattended and preferably indoors at night, koala-friendly rural fencing with a 30 cm gap at the bottom, a secured rope in the pool, and care when driving east of the train line at dusk, dawn and night. Report a dead koala to open.space@campbelltown.nsw.gov.au and check the pouch of a dead female for a joey. Council’s page gives two numbers for reporting a roaming dog — 02 4645 4604 and 02 4645 4601 — so ring the switchboard on (02) 4645 4000 and ask which one to use.
