Menangle Park readers following nearby nature activities can note two guided bird-watching walks announced by Camden Council for October, alongside a national count they can join from their own backyard or local park.

The free walks are at Harrington Park Lake on Tuesday 20 October 2026 from 5pm and Camden Town Farm on Saturday 24 October from 7.30am. Bird specialist Mark Fuller from Avianation will lead both.

Council will provide binoculars and encourages participants to bring a smartphone and download the free Aussie Bird Count App to record sightings. The walks follow Council pathways and suit participants with a moderate level of fitness.

Bookings open on Tuesday 6 October. The Council announcement invites Camden residents; readers considering a walk can use Council’s official page for booking links and participation conditions.

Aussie Bird Count Week runs from 19–25 October. People unable to attend a guided walk can still use the app to record birds spotted in their backyard, local park or neighbourhood.
