When fire tore through The Store Menangle on 25 May 2026, the village lost more than a cafe — the corner store at 2 Station Street had stood since 1904, and for many locals it was the daily ritual: coffee, a chat, the papers.
The good news: the Store is trading again, serving coffee and food from a temporary pop-up van on site while the rebuild of the heritage building takes shape. The community response — including a GoFundMe that rallied locals within days of the fire — says everything about what the place means to the district.
If you're passing through Menangle village, the van is the easiest way to show support — and the coffee tradition continues uninterrupted.
You'll find The Store in our local directory, and we'll follow the rebuild as it progresses.
